Surname Notes On This Page

In household 15, the enumerator wrote the surname as 'Dalrumple', a suggested alternative surname is 'Dalrymple'. The person suggesting the alternative surname provided this comment: 'Part of my family; the name was spelled with a Y. Scots pronunciation was along the lines of "Darrumple" which led to misspellings at times. Robert's gravestone is Dalrymple.'.
